Why beans?

So I have decided to start a blog about beans, crazy I know. My thoughts were of my friends and family that have dietary and budget issues or just want an easy way to eat healthier.  Once a week I will be featuring a bean, or rice and a cooking technique that will help you with beans in general and a recipe that I will be making from the bean of the week.  I will try to add all the nutrient and calories for the dishes so you can see how healthy your eating.  Last of all I think food takes us around the world so I hope you have your taste buds ready for our beans and rice world trip!
